Winning at Widowing

Do you trust God through the storms of your life? Like really, REALLY trust Him? When we pray over those we love we expect God to answer our prayers in a very specific way. We pray for healing from addictions, illness, disease. We pray for restoration of the body and the mind, and restoration of relationships. Let's be honest. When we pray, we know exactly how we want God to answer our prayers. But "who has the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?" (1 Corinthians 2:16, NIV)." His ways are higher than our ways and his thoughts higher than our thoughts (Isaiah 55: 9, NIV)". Do we trust God with the real, deep, desperate prayers and cries of our hearts?

This week we talk to someone who has learned the hard way to trust God through the storm, even though....

Danette's story begins like many stories, with something that thousands of people pray over loved ones for every day. The progression and end of Danette's story is not ever one that we would want. The progression of her story, the free will exercised by those around her, is the kind that leaves most of us asking "God, where are you?". But the end, oh ladies, the end of this story has God answering "Right here, the whole time my precious child. I have NEVER left your side".

Danette's story is still in progress as she deals with motherhood as a widow. Her testimony is one of beauty from ashes and God's beautiful restoration and faithfulness. She shares with us the journey through her husband's death and how the constant love of the Father walked - sometimes carried- her through it all. We are so blessed to have her share it on our podcast! If you are struggling and find yourself in the midst of those desperate heart cries to God, we pray that Danette's story will speak into where you are and remind you that God has NEVER left your side. He hears every single cry, beloved. Romans 8:26 tells us that the Spirit himself intercedes for us through our wordless groans. God is right there with you, for He is near to all who call to him, to all who call on him in truth (Psalm 145:18). He sees you. He hears you. He LOVES you. He IS working all things out for good.

If there is anything that we can be joining in prayer with you over, please send us a message and let us know. We would love to come along beside you and stand in prayer with you. Be blessed.
