Scabs

If you're like me, you may have never spent much time thinking about scabs. I definitely never considered that my child wouldn't know what a scab was when she discovered one on her body, or that she would think that her skin was just suddenly falling off. When my little one was standing before me panicking over her boo boo that was now falling off of her knee, I suddenly found myself thinking about scabs more within those two minutes than in the entirety of my life. Scabs are a natural part of human biology. They induce healing and they're seriously gross.

But, in trying to explain all of this to my daughter, I found that God was trying to explain something to me. He has a natural plan for our healing. If we let nature run its course, a scab will cover a wound, the wound will heal and the scab will fall off without notice and without a trace. When we pick at the scab it takes longer to heal and usually scars. The same goes for our heart wounds. When we try to heal them ourselves, it doesn't work out. We pick at the wound, we dress it with the wrong bandage, we don't give it the proper amount of time to heal, we often re-injure the wound, I could go on and on. But when we release those wounds to God He can not only heal them, but He can completely restore them. Amanda and I dive into this topic of healing in this week's podcast, and talk a little more in depth about the infinite power of Jehovah Rapha. What is it that you need healing over in your life today? We encourage you to hand it over to God and let him bring about a complete healing and restoration. We would love to stand with you in prayer. Send us a message on Facebook or email us at sendhelppodcast@gmail.com, and let us know how we can pray for you.
