Do you know someone who just exudes confidence? She walks around like she owns the place, talks to everyone, makes them all feel welcomed and comfortable, takes charge and leads the group. Everyone loves her and nobody ever questions that she fits in because she sets the tone. Maybe you are that person. I definitely am NOT that person. See, I am what you call an introvert. Introverts do not walk around like we own the place. Not only do we not want to talk to people and make them feel welcomed in different events or situations, we don't even want to be there ourselves. I would even take a guess and say that there are some extroverts that feel that way sometimes as well. But what happens is that we are left feeling like we don't fit in. We're not a part of the group. So, we strive to be more like those around us. We begin to conform so that we don't stand out. We blend in with the group so that we are accepted by them. The problem with this approach to life, though, is that God created us each uniquely, individually, on purpose. Not only that, but when we become born again believers we are supposed to stand apart from the crowd. We are not to conform to the pattern of this world, but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds in Christ (Romans 12:2). God has called us to be different. He created us to stand against the grain and be the change for a world that lacks hope. Not fitting in, for us, is a good thing. When we strive to fit in we will never fulfill the calling that God has placed on our lives. We, instead, must embrace the identity that we find in Him and step out in faith that He has called us and that He will see us through. The word brazen means to be bold and without shame. This week Amanda shares her story of not fitting in but rather standing out in a crowd like a billboard, and realizing that God calls her to be the light of the world; that city on a hill that cannot be hidden (Matthew 5:14). Join us as we dive in and talk about being God's brazen and beloved daughter.
